How are different and how to use “ค่ะ คะ นะคะ” (kà ká ná ká)

ค่ะ(kà) คะ(ká) นะคะ(ná ká) are Thai particles that are commonly used to indicate politeness or soften the tone of a sentence is often used by females. 

Here’s how they different and how to use…

ค่ะ (kà)

This particles is often used at the end of sentences in low-tone to make them sound more polite when speaking to someone of higher status or informal situation. ค่ะ will use by end of question sentence, response sentence, answer sentences 

For example

- Thank you = ขอบคุณค่ะ (kòb kun kà)

- I have eaten yet = ฉันกินข้าวแล้วค่ะ (chăn gin kâao láew kà)
- Yes! = ใช่ค่ะ (châi kà)

คะ (ká)

This particles is used at the end in high-tone of sentences for politeness. It’s generally used in question sentences or call someone in gentleness.

For example

- Where are you going? = ไปไหนคะ(bpai năi ká)

- Have you eaten yet? = กินข้าวรึยังคะ(gin kâao réu yang ká)

- Do you understand? = เข้าใจไหมคะ(kâo jai măi ká)

นะคะ(ná ká)

This participle combines with “นะ(ná)” and “คะ(ká)” “นะ(ná)” is used to often statements, making them sound more friendly and less direct when it’s used with คะ It will become a polite and softer way. “นะคะ(ná ká)” is often used in casual conversations among friends when addressing someone younger. It’s generally used in by end of telling sentences or response sentence in more formal way

For example

- Thank you = ขอบคุณนะคะ (kòb kun ná ká)
- I'll go back first = ฉันกลับก่อนนะคะ (chăn glàp gòn ná ká)
- Mom, I love you = รักคุณแม่นะคะ (rág kun mâe ná ká)

ฟ้า : สวัสดีค่ะ ฉันชื่อฟ้าค่ะ แล้วคุณชื่ออะไรคะ? (sà-wàd-dii  kà · chăn chêu Fah kâ · láew kun chêu à-rai ká)

เฟิร์น : ฉันชื่อเฟิร์นค่ะ (chăn chêu Fern kâ)

ฟ้า : คุณทำงานที่นี่มานานรึยังคะ ? (kun tam ngaan tîi nîi maa naan réu yang ká)

เฟิร์น : ฉันทำงานที่นี่มา 3 เดือนแล้วค่ะ แล้วคุณฟ้าทำงานที่นี่มานานแค่ไหนแล้วคะ? (chăn tam ngaan tîi nîi maa săam duean láew kâ · láew kun Fah tam ngaan tîi nîi maa naan kâe năi láew ká)

ฟ้า : ฉันพึ่งทำมา 1 อาทิตย์ค่ะ ยินดีที่ได้รู้จักนะคะ (chăn puêng tam maa nèung aa-tíd kâ · yin dii tîi dâai rúu jàg ná ká)

เฟิร์น : เช่นกันนะคะ (chên gan ná ká)
